The PADI Open Water Diver course includes three parts.1. Knowledge Development: This covers the principles, concepts and terms you need to know for dive safety and enjoyment. This portion of the course will be completed online and independently using PADI eLearning that will allow students to work on the classroom sessions at their convenience. Registrants will be emailed a link for eLearning content registration. Students will have a limited time to complete the eLearning portion of this course. Completion should be done prior to the pool sessions on May 18th & 19th, 2024. Once the eLearning portion is complete the instructor will contact each student to make arrangements to take an in-person quiz and get fitted for SCUBA gear at Scuba Steve's Dive Adventure in Palmdale.2. Confined Water Dives: Students will learn and practice scuba skills in a pool. The pool sessions will be Saturday & Sunday: May 18th & 19th, 2024.12-5pm on Saturday, May 18th, 202410am-3pm on Sunday, May 19th, 2024. Pool sessions will be at Marie Kerr Pool located at 2723 West Rancho Vista Blvd., Palmdale.3. Open Water Dives: This will complete your training in this course in a two-day ocean setting. One day will have three dives from a boat at one of our local islands. The second day will be at a beach where you will learn beach diving techniques. The beach days are typically 4 hours and the boat dive is an all day session. Ocean dives are scheduled for May 25th and 26th, 2024Pre-requisites: Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit and comfortable in the water can earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification.Minimum age requirement is 10 years old.Parents or legal guardians must be present at all in-water pool, boat & beach sessions.Additional $639 materials fee will be due to the instructor.Registration Fee Includes: Instruction & in-person pool experience.Additional Materials Fee Includes: eLearning registration, dive boat charter, certification card fee and use of scuba gear listed:1.
