Fiber and Fabric Arts Entry FormFIBER AND FABRIC CONTEST AND SHOW ELIGIBILITY: Residents of Gilpin and surrounding counties. DIVISIONS: Youth: 8-18; Adult:19+ GENERAL GUIDELINES: A $5.00 entry fee and completed entry form must be included with submission. Participants may enter only 1 item per class but may enter multiple classes i.e. the same participant may enter an item in the quilt class and the garment class. Gilpin County Fair reserves the right to limit entries and/or combine classes. If a kit or commercial pattern is used, full credit to the original designer must be included with the entry. Items will be judged by a qualified judge and feedback will be provided (see copy of judging sheet). Items submitted must be clean, free of pet hair, smoke and odors. Entries that do not meet criteria will be disqualified and returned. Please drop off completed items at the Gilpin County Community Center Front Desk between June 22nd - July 13th. No items will be accepted after July 13th. Gilpin County, Gilpin County Fair and its representatives are not responsible for any loss, damage, or injury to any property while on the Fairgrounds. AWARDS: Ribbons will be awarded to First, Second and Third Place winners. Ribbon winners may be eligible to submit their work to the Colorado State Fair (check Colorado State Fair Guidelines for the specifics of your work). CLASSES:UPCYCLINGMake something new out of something old". Can be clothing, decor, accessories, etc. The idea is to recycle something into a new and fabulous piece of fiber art.GARMENTS and ACCESSORIESIncludes clothing, hats, belts and other accessories. We've even had leather spur holders and holsters submitted!QUILTS, HOME DECOR, and MOREStitch up your best quilted products, wall hangings, and other home decor!One cash grand prize and ribbon will be awarded for each of these categories, along with ribbons for second and third place winners. All entries will be displayed during the Fair and winners will be announced during the festivities. We ask that all entries be clean and finished. July 16 - Judging July 17 - 12:00 PM- 3:00 PM Open to the public for viewing in the Community Center Multi-Purpose Room July 18 - 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM Open to the public for viewing in the Community Center Multi-Purpose Room July 19 - Items must be picked up by 3:00 PM *Please make arrangements if you are unable to pick up your item during this time.*
