ALH Lap Swim

Description

Lap swim is for swimmers 18 years and up, and will only take place in designated "lane(s)" at each of our City pools. This year, you will have the option of reserving your site, day and time. With the rule of one period per days venue, so that everyone may equally participate. A particular venue may be during Rec Swim, aerobics, morning lesson or afternoon lessons as space permits. (City Lap Swim is not designated for teams) It has been observed, that our patrons don't swim freestyle. Majority of our patrons swim breastroke and our lap lanes tend to move slowly. And as such breaststrokers kick wide and thus we are limiting lanes to a safe number of three to begin with. And it is required that all swimmers swim in a clockwise "Circle Pattern".  During Rec Swim, there will be 3 periods. Periods 1 & 3 are 55 minutes And our 2nd period is 30 minutes. Please note that the deep end of the pool is only for diving boards and deck diving in prescribed areas. Loitering in the ladder and deck jumping/diving areas is a safety violation. Please note the "signage" for an appropriate area to deck dive and/or float  In accordance with with the social distancing practices put in place by the LA County Health Order, all patrons are required to register for lap swim. *REFUNDS MUST BE REQUESTED AT LEAST 24 HOURS PRIOR TO THE LAP SWIM DAY/TIME. You will be required to call the rec swim office hours at the other pool. Acceptable Equipment (only in Lap Lanes): Suit, Swim Cap, Goggles, Fins, Swim Boards, Rash Guards, Swim booties and Snorkel-Mask. We will not be responsible for Personal clothing and belongings and you will be directed to place them along a 3 foot perimeter of the pool deck fence.
