Registration availability in all leagues is limited based on number of staff/volunteers that are available and facility space. Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. This 6-game league will feature one practice a week (day and time based on gym availability) and one game on Saturdays. Practice day and time is determined by your volunteer coach. All teams are guaranteed to have at least one hour of indoor practice space per week. Score is kept for 5th grade (no score in 4th grade to create a learning environment). General youth sports jerseys are mandatory and can be purchased at the CARD Office for $17. Early Bird Registration Deadline: 11/21/22 ($85)Final Registration Deadline: 11/28/22 ($95) GENERAL INFORMATION For more information on all CARD Youth Sports leagues, visit us at: www.chicorec.com/youth-sports-general-information Updates: Players will be emailed their team information (from an @chicorec.com address) by 1/13/23 by 5PM. Practice Days: Practices days and times are dependent on the coach’s availability. Practices start the week of January 16. Each team will have a 1-hour practice. Times will vary between 3:30-8:30PM. 4th Grade Leagues: Practice on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday. 5th Grade Leagues: Practice on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. Games: Saturdays, 1/21-3/4 depending on gym space (6 game guarantee per team, no end of season tournament). Each game is approximately one hour. All game days are tentative and are subject to change. Uniforms: Players will be required to wear a CARD General Youth Sports jersey (available at the CARD office to purchase for $17), athletic clothing and athletic shoes to all practices and games. Coaches: Coaches in the 4th and 5th grade leagues will be CARD volunteers. Interested in coaching in volunteering? Special Requests: One buddy request can be made during the registration process Coach requests are not accepted. Please read the buddy request process closely to ensure it is valid. Team Formation: Teams will be loosely based on grade and where players attend school. Genders are separated for basketball. Grades will be combined if there are not enough players in a specific grade to run a league on its own (for example: 4th/5th may combine into one league if necessary) All team formation is at the discretion of CARD staff. Skills Evaluations: CARD will contact participants for a mandatory skills evaluation if needed.
