About This Event

For the beginner artist looking to grow their skills toward painting, as well as artists with prior experience that want to hone their skills in a new direction. Learn fundamental skills in drawing such as the basics of composition, cropping, measurement, foreshortening, texture, patterns, space, value, perspective, and proportion. Working primarily through in-person observation and photo reproduced images, students will tackle a variety of still-life and landscape subjects with an eye toward future painting, especially in watercolor. Supply List: Sketchbook and Beginners Drawing Kit which should include charcoal pencils, a kneaded eraser, a white eraser, graphite pencils in a couple grades of hardness/softness, and a pencil sharpener.
