HCI's Friday Pickleball DUPR League is for Intermediate to Advanced players who are looking to play competitive matches. *It is recommended if you have never played before that you join one of our Pickleball Clinics before competing in league play.*Please note that for new players to HCI Pickleball Leagues, creating a DUPR account and joining the HCI League will be required to complete registration - use the link below if needed*Please follow this Guide for steps on how to create an account and get setup with HCI Pickleball LeaguesDatesSept 12, 19, 26Oct 3, 10, 17, 24Nov 7*SKIP 10/31*Times5:30p - Warm up play (optional)6:00p - Matches startPairingsEach week, you will be grouped with 3 or 4 other players based on the order of the league ladder.* Initial pairings will be based on estimated skill levels/DUPR score** No player substitutions for absences.. Players will be moved up accordinglyScoring and Movement:- Weekly Score = Wins count as 1 point, Losses count as 0- Tiebreakers within your group = Score differential (ex. maximum score diff is 44-0 if you win every game 11-0)- Ladder movement based on rank (after each week)Match FormatWithin your weekly group, you will play 4 matches with all possible pairings (5 player groups)* If you have a group of 4, you will still play 4 games.. 4th match partnership may be the one that was the closest score of the previous gamesGames are played to 11 with no “win by 2 rule”DUPRAll scores will be inputted into DUPR, so it is required to have your account set up.Brief description of what DUPR is (per their website):DUPR stands for Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating, a system used to assess and compare the skill levels of pickleball players. It's known for its accuracy and universal applicability, rating players on a scale from 2.0 (beginner) to 8.0 (professional) regardless of age, gender, or location The DUPR system is dynamic, meaning it adjusts a player's rating after each match based on their performance. It considers factors such as match outcomes, points won, and the skill level of opponents to provide an up-to-date reflection of a player's abilities What sets DUPR apart is its inclusivity and the use of a modified Elo algorithm, which evaluates recent matches more heavily to ensure the ratings remain current. It also includes a Reliability Score to prevent manipulation of ratings and ensure fair play.
