Fossils Under Foot!In so many places throughout our Tidewater Region, there’s a chance that buried somewhere under our feet are the remains and traces of ancient sea animals. There are the relatives of our modern shallow ocean communities, and they include different (and extinct) kinds of clams, oysters, snails, sea stars, urchins, worms - even shark teeth and whale bones! Come to the Discovery Center to see examples of these ancient creatures, and to learn about how these fossils came to be “under our feet”!
