Big Sky Cloud PaintingWhen: Fridays: March 4, 11, 18, 25 and April 1Where: Dunbar Recreation Center 801 Martin Luther King Dr. (Meets at San Marcos Rec Hall March 18)Time: 10 AM to 1:00 PMFee: $50:00Course Description: Paint cloudscapes using hard and soft edges, chromatic grays and whites, harmonious color schemes, impasto as well as glazing techniques. Develop both sketches, low chroma studies in smaller scale as well as larger more refined works.SUBSTRATE*Strathmore 400 series acrylic paper pad (9X12 or larger) You can use watercolor paper or stretched canvas or canvas paper as well.*(If you want to work on birch panels or cradled panels that is totally fine, albeit that is a more expensive option. You will still need some kind of heavy paper for the smaller studies.) PAINT: Acrylic Naphthol crimson, cadmium yellow hue, Hansa yellow light, ultramarine blue, cerulean blue (hue), cobalt blue (hue), payne’s grey, burnt umber, raw Sienna, large 3.3 oz.tube of Titanium or Zinc whiteADDITIONAL SUPPLIESBoard on which to tape your paperSlow blending medium or fluid matte or fluid gloss medium 8oz. Presented by Roxana Tuff: Roxy is a metalsmith and illustrator who holds a BFA in Painting and Drawing and a MFA in Painting. She is an outstanding instructor having taught in the art studio area at Texas State for 14 years and for Life-Long Learning for 6 years.
