About the Course:Join our fun and educational beginner classes presented by Legacy Martial Arts of Darien. During this six-week program, students will be introduced to punches, kicks, strikes, and combinations. They will practice the skills needed to test for their first belt---a white belt.In addition to the benefit of physical activity, students will benefit by gaining:• Respect: for self and others (improving self-esteem and listening skills)• Self-discipline: take pride in hard work (encouraging academic achievements, completion of chores, and accountability)• Self-control: be mindful of your body and behavior (controlling emotions, improving focus, and unplugging from devices)This program is designed to be an introduction to karate. While students may repeat the program, skill progression is geared toward earning a white belt.
