New! Conflarma, a Community Jazz Ensemble
2407, Market Street, Baytown, Harris County, Texas, 77520, United States
Description
This Community Jazz Ensemble is a free program open to all citizens who have a passion for music and want to continue developing their musical skills. While the program is open to everyone, it is especially designed for students attending schools that do not currently offer a band or orchestra program, such as Impact Early College High School and Stuart Career Center. This program was created from an idea presented by two young students who share a passion for music and wanted to provide an opportunity for other students to learn, perform, and grow as musicians. Participants will have the chance to collaborate with other musicians, build confidence, and experience the excitement of performing in an ensemble setting. Β They have named the ensemble "Conflarma" which combines the ideas of together and flame to represent people uniting under a shared passion for music. The ensemble will be led by a former Lee High School and Lee College Jazz Band member who has generously volunteered his time and talents to mentor and guide students. Through instruction, rehearsal, and performance opportunities, the Community Jazz Ensemble aims to make music education accessible to everyone in the community. Participants are encouraged to bring their own instruments and any necessary equipment. While the group will do our best to provide instruments and equipment for those who need them, bringing your own will help rehearsals begin on time and ensure everyone has what they need.
