Description
Led by experienced instructors with a PhD and Masters in Engineering, this high-tech makerspace experience turns advanced physics into a hands-on playground for curious kids! No prebuilt kits, all projects will be designed and built from basic components by the students themselves. A small group size with a low student/instructor ratio ensures that every child has the personal attention and support they need. Students bring their own food (Please pack ample lunch and snacks, and don’t forget your water bottle!) Week 1 (6/22-6/26) – Mechanical WondersThis week, we will master structural engineering and simple machines! Using specially designed gears, pulleys, ball bearings, various 3D-printed parts, and hydraulic systems, our students will design and build intricate structures, fast vehicles, working siege machines, and marble runs! Week 2 (7/27-7/31) – Magic of Invisible ForcesExplore the science of the unseen! This week, our students will learn about electricity by creating projects with LED lights and motors, explore the science of sound and light, and build their own telescopes, musical instruments, lanterns, and custom light swords!Note: Completing Week 1 is not required for Week 2. $95 supply fee due to the instructor at the start of class. Includes all building materials and take-home engineering projects!
