Safety Camp

For students entering 4th and 5th grade.Each year the Coon Rapids Fire and Police Departments team up to teach kids a variety of skills that will help them stay safe. Students learn about a variety of important safety skills including water, fire and electrical safety; basic first aid and how to use 911. This is a two day camp held in July, filled with safety lessons and fun!Departments are co-sponsoring this exciting program designed for kids to have fun while learning. Children will be taught about water safety, fire safety, basic first aid, electrical safety, 911 and more!Camp will be held at the Coon Rapids Ice Center, 11000 Crooked Lake Blvd., rain or shine. Please check in at the main entrance. There will be snacks and lunch served daily. Lunch the first day will be pizza, the second day will be McDonald’s burgers & cheese burgers. If your child has dietary restrictions, please send a bag lunch with them.A short graduation and awards ceremony for families and students is held immediately following the last day of camp. Graduation will be Wednesday, July 17 at 4 p.m at the Coon Rapids Ice Center (held outdoors on west side of the building).Children will need their swim suit and towel, bike and helmet for Wednesday's Camp.If you qualify for free or reduces programming fees, please call 763-767-6409 to request the information needed to register.
