Mastering the Wheel - Beyond the BasicsThis intermediate-level course moves beyond the basics to focus on precision, efficiency, and form. You will refine wall thickness consistency, throw larger and taller, add attachments, and learn controlled altering techniques. Each week targets a specific form or skill. The detailed syllabus can be downloaded here.Learning Objectives:By the end of week 4, students will be able to:Throw 3 lbs of clay into a balanced bowl and cylinder.Pull consistent 7–8 inch cylinders with even walls.Trim complex foot rings and add clay decorations like sprig-molded additions.Alter a thrown form (faceting, darting, or chattering).Duration: 4 WeeksDates/Time: Saturdays from 9:30a - 12:00p, June 6 - 27Skill Level: Intermediate (some experience centering and throwing is helpful)Fee: $110Includes: Glazes, firings, open studio time, 25# bag of clay, and use of community tools.Note: Students are welcome to bring their own favorite tools and a small towel.Instructor: Kristin Conrad
