Scholarships (Renewal) - Step 1 - - 2027 Scholarship Reg begins November 3, 2026

About This Event

This is the first step in the Scholarship Renewal process.  Completing it allows us to confirm your eligibility and provide you with instructions for the full application. You must ensure your CivicRec Account has all three Email Preferences checked to Opt-In. This is the only way Large Group Communications will be sent.   Thank you for your interest in a 2027 Scholarship!   In preparation, please gather the following documents (required to complete your application): Completed 2027 Scholarship Application – The application link will be forthcoming from CampDoc.com requesting you to complete your Health Profile. This is where you will complete the 2027 Scholarship Application. The information obtained will not be regarding your health. The CampDoc link is generated by our office staff and will be sent to you within 3–5 business days after your registration is complete.   Proof of Residency (One required): Utility Bill (PG&E, EBMUD, Cable/Dish TV, phone) listing a Berkeley address;  Valid driver's license listing a Berkeley address or  Letter of verification on Homeless Services Agency’s letterhead   Proof of guardianship of any child/children participating in programs. Birth certificate showing a relationship to the participant(s) under age 18. Court documents stipulating guardianship, custody, proof of appointment. This may include Foster Care order.   Income Verification: Create one document to include all that apply to this requirement. The applicant must provide one or more of the below documentation of their household income in a single document to upload. Recent Federal W-2 or Current tax return (Form 1040) (accepted through June 30 of each calendar year) Schedule C for all persons residing at this address Two (2) most recent consecutive paystubs for all 18(+ ) living in the home Award letter from Social Security or Social Services with current benefit amount (including Foster Child Payments); Profit and loss statements Student loans or grants; Affidavit of irregular or temporary income that cannot otherwise be verified   Program Registration - (begins early 2027) Recreation Administration staff will register scholarship recipients for programs and/or sessions indicated on their scholarship interest forms, based on availability and participant limits. Program Selection Limits: Please review your summer schedule carefully before submitting your scholarship interest form. If the scholarship interest form specifies a maximum of four program choices and more than four are selected, no adjustments will be made within that program area after registration. Placement will be assigned based on availability, and specific requests beyond the limit cannot be accommodated.   Do Not Self-Register: Recipients may not self-register. Any self-registration will result in the loss of scholarship eligibility for that registration, and the recipient will be financially responsible for all associated fees. Registrations made before scholarship approval will not be retroactively covered. Any requests for refunds or credits will follow the standard refund policy.   Important Notes about Registration & Interest Forms  Scholarship registration is separate from general registration. If you see public registration opening, rest assured that scholarship spaces are reserved and accessible only to Recreation Administration staff to register approved scholarship participants. Interest forms will be sent out around the various program registration dates. If a program has any approved scholarship spaces, you will be notified of availability.   Thank you for your interest.
