Visit Mayfield Dairy in Athens, TN also known as the sweetest place on earth! For over 100 years, Mayfield has been delighting families with wholesome milk and world-famous ice cream. At the visitor center, enjoy a cold treat at the old-fashioned ice cream parlor and sample Mayfield's signature ice cream flavors. On our way to Mayfield, we'll stop for breakfast at Gregory’s Beechgrove Country Store. Click HERE to see what their serving up! Then after visiting Mayfield we'll visit Sweetwater Valley Farm, one of the dairy farms that supplies milk to Mayfield! Before our farm tour we'll have lunch (Dutch treat) in the farms café, where just about everything is made with their fresh cheese. Click HERE to check out the menu! Sweetwater Valley Farm is home to Tennessee’s first Lely XL robotic facility which uses 8 robots to milk 500 Holstein cows. Take a guided tour of the robotic milking facility while learning about the entire dairy operation and cheese making process.
