The Lincoln Lightning Swim Team is excited to launch its inaugural season serving approximately 150 swimmers from the Lincoln community. As part of the City of Lincoln recreation programs, our goal is to create a positive and encouraging environment where swimmers can improve their skills, build friendships, and represent their community with pride. The Lightning spirit is all about teamwork, dedication, and fun both in and out of the water. Swimming is not only a great sport—it is also an important life skill. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), drowning is one of the leading causes of accidental death for children in the United States. Participation in swimming programs helps children develop strong water competency, confidence, and safety awareness that can significantly reduce the risk of drowning while building lifelong healthy habits. As we begin building this new program, we are seeking community partners and sponsors who are interested in supporting youth recreation in Lincoln. Contributions from local businesses and organizations will help us establish a strong foundation for the team and ensure that the program remains accessible to local families. Sponsorship support will help the Lincoln Lightning Swim Team: ·         Keep registration fees affordable for families ·         Purchase team t-shirts for every swimmer ·         Purchase start-up team equipment ·         Invest in timing equipment for competitions ·         Work toward a future electronic scoreboard for our facility With approximately 150-175 swimmers participating in our first season, the Lincoln Lightning Swim Team represents a growing and enthusiastic group of young athletes and families. Community sponsorship helps make this opportunity possible while strengthening connections between local businesses and the families they serve.
