Opening | Lectures & Presentations

Description

Join instructor Debroah Kohn this spring for an in-person discussion of the music and life of one of the most significant and popular American composers of all time, George Gershwin. Even though Gershwin wrote primarily for the Broadway musical theater of the 1920s and 30s, his orchestral and piano compositions, such as Rhapsody in Blue, will be highlighted to demonstrate how he blended the techniques and forms of classical music with the stylistic nuances and techniques of popular music and jazz.
