Gilbert Aquatics is offering a Water Safety Instructor Certification course for ages 16 and older to certify as a swim lesson instructor. During the two day class, participants will acquire the knowledge needed to successfully teach swim lessons to a variety of age groups based on the American Red Cross Swimming and Water Safety program.PLEASE NOTE: When registering for this class the PARTICIPANT'S (not the parent) email must be entered. This class includes eight (8) hours of online course modules and videos that must be completed PRIOR to the first in-person class on March 26. The PARTICIPANT will receive the link for the required online learning about 2-3 weeks prior to the class date and may begin the course once access is granted. Participants who do not complete the required online portion by March 26 will be dropped from the class. Participants must turn the minimum age of 16 by March 27 in order to register. Please bring a swimsuit, goggles, towel, change of clothes, lunch, snacks, and water to both days of class. All WSI candidates hired by Gilbert who obtain their WSI certificate with Gilbert will be reimbursed the course fee at the end of the aquatics season, provided they are an employee eligible for rehire. Withdrawals and refunds are allowed up to MARCH 9, less a $5 administrative fee. Should the program be canceled due to unforeseen circumstances, the full fee will be refunded to original form of payment. NO REFUNDS AVAILABLE AFTER MARCH 9.
