2702 Piestewa Peak Dr, Phoenix, AZ 85016, USA

Opening | Outdoor Nature Programs

Description

Ever wondered how native plants survive in the Sonoran Desert? Come find out! Join a Park Ranger on a half mile at Piestewa Peak Trailhead to identify common plants and learn about the adaptations that help them survive blistering summers and droughts. You'll also hear about some of the cool projects Park Rangers and Park Steward volunteers are working on to help protect our native species, such as the iconic saguaro. Please come prepared to hike with water, snacks, sturdy shoes, a hat, and sunscreen.
