Everyone has a story - and yours matters.This Writing Workshop focuses on writing personal narratives and invites seniors to explore, shape, and share meaningful stories from their lives. Whether you want to preserve memories for family and friends or simply enjoy the pleasure of writing for yourself, this course offers a supportive and inspiring space. Through engaging writing prompts, guided exercises, and clear, practical instruction, participants learn the essential tools that make personal narrative writing fun and make your personal narratives come alive and resonate on the page. Participants share out their writing in class for constructive feedback from different perspectives.No prior writing experience is needed. This course only requires your curiosity and willingness to explore your own experiences and is suited for new and continuing participants. By the end of the course, you will have the confidence, techniques, and momentum to continue your personal narrative writing journey beyond the course.About the instructor:Beverle Lax, PhD, has a doctorate in African languages and linguistics. She is an experienced writer, editor, and proofreader who taught expository and argumentative writing for 20 years in Kenya.
