Description
This comprehensive program prepares students for the growing field of physical therapy. Working under the direction of a physical therapist, the physical therapy aide is generally responsible for carrying out non-technical duties of physical therapy, such as preparing treatment areas, ordering devices and supplies and transporting patients. These workers also help physical therapists provide services that improve mobility, relieve pain and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of patients suffering from injuries or a disease. Physical therapy aides may be employed in nursing homes, hospitals, sports rehabilitation centers and orthopedic clinics. Shadowing Opportunities available. After successfully completing this course, students qualify to take the certifying exam. Testing fee not included.
